MSN, RN, RN Care Manager
Melissa serves as an RN Care Manager for IPCN, supporting pediatric patients by helping families with understanding their child’s health, advocating for high-quality care, and empowering caregivers to become confident advocates themselves.
Most recently, Melissa worked as a Program Supervisor with the NC Medicaid Ombudsman (NCMO) at partner organization Pisgah Legal, where she developed a strong foundation in the Medicaid system and how to navigate it. She also brings experience as a pediatric nurse, giving her a deep understanding of both common and complex pediatric health conditions.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s in advanced practice pediatric nursing from the University of California, San Francisco. Originally from Pennsylvania, she has called the Asheville area home for more than 20 years. Outside of work, Melissa enjoys life with her two children, two dogs, and two cats.
