Amy’s role focuses on empowering patients through education, ensuring smooth transitions of care, and using population health data to improve wellness and achieve positive health outcomes.

In her most recent role as ventricular assist device (VAD) coordinator for Mission Hospital, Amy built individualized care plans and led end-to-end care for VAD patients. Prior to that, she managed daily operations and the nursing staff for a 40-bed progressive cardiac unit, also at Mission. In her various leadership roles, Amy has become known for both patient advocacy and team building.

Amy holds two bachelors of science degrees: one in health and wellness promotion from the University of North Carolina Asheville and one in nursing from Western Carolina University. She also holds multiple professional certifications and was the recipient of the DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing care.

When she’s not working, Amy loves spending time with her husband and their baby girl. She also enjoys outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, and walking her dogs.
