Clinical Operations Manager, Impact Primary Care Network
Karen has been a dedicated healthcare professional in Western North Carolina (WNC) for over 30 years. As the clinical operations manager for Impact Primary Care Network (IPCN), she leads the nursing staff, implements health programs, and contributes to the organization’s success in serving the region.
A WNC native, Karen excels in nursing leadership and healthcare management. She recently served as director of nursing services at a non-profit, skilled nursing facility, where she led a team of 125 nursing department employees. During her 26-year tenure, her department consistently received deficiency-free surveys from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), maintained a 5-star rating in CMS Nursing Home Compare, and was recognized as the Top Nursing Home in North Carolina by US News and World Report.
In 1994, Karen earned an associate degree in applied science nursing from the Region A Nursing Consortium and obtained her RN licensure. In 2012, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Carolina University. She is also certified in post-acute care nursing and infection control.
Outside of her professional life, Karen enjoys cooking, gardening, and engaging with her local community. She is a mother of three, grandmother of three (soon to be four), and a proud fur mom to two energetic Jack Russell terriers.
